Local Business Appointed For New Framework Agreement
DEVCO, a consortium of four local housing associations developed specifically to oversee funding for the provision of more affordable housing across the region, has awarded a long term contract to Talbot Green-based Vision Products.
The four year long contract worth £4 million will see Vision Products supply windows and patio/French doors for the entire housing stock of Devco’s members - Cynon Taf Housing Association, Hendre Housing Association, Merthyr Housing Association, and Rhondda Housing Association – totalling more than 6,000 properties.
Owned by Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, Vision Products is a supported workshop employing 145 disabled people from the surrounding area that specialises in the manufacture of PVCu products.
With its first project under the new contract scheduled for Merthyr Tydfil, Vision Products won the contract in a very competitive market because of its proven track record in the social housing sector.
Says Philip Howells, at Vision Products: "We are thrilled to have been awarded the DEVCO contract as it recognises our professionalism and service excellence. Obviously, our connections with the council have demonstrated our ability to consistently deliver high quality products and installations in the public and social housing sectors and we are looking forward to working closely with DEVCO and its other partners in sharing ideas and improving quality standards longer term."
On awarding the contract to Vision Products, Antonia Forte, Chair of DEVCO said: "This partnership with Vision Products is at the centre of DEVCO’s pledge to work with locally based suppliers. In particular, we’re pleased to be involved with Vision Products due to their commitment to provide cost effective employment and development opportunities for people with disabilities. "We are delighted to welcome Vision Products to this framework and very confident that over the next four years this relationship will produce major benefits for all involved, in particular for our residents."
